Tokyu Ikegami line - your route to a quieter, more relaxed life
Starting at Gotanda and running to its terminus at Kamata, the Tokyu Ikegami line spans 10.8km, two city wards and 15 stations across south-eastern Tokyo.
The areas surrounding each station stop are generally packed with shops, convenience stores and restaurants that eventually give way to quiet and laid back surburban streets. If you ever find yourself stressed out by the fast-pace of life in central Tokyo and long for somewhere quiet but with good transport, then the area along the Ikegami line could be exactly the kind of place that you have been looking for! On top of that, this area is also home to a lake (surrounded by cherry blossoms on spring) and many cultural interest points such as the famous Honmonji temple at Ikegami.

Ishikawadai is a small residential area to the east of Yukigaya Otsuka. Mainly comprised of private residences, there is also shopping street named Kibougaoka that is home to several Japanese style restaurants and shops. On the hill above the area is a small shrine that frequently hosts local events.

A walk of roughly 5 minutes from Ishikawadai station will take you to a boating pond, Senzoku Ike. This large pond is a popular spot and locals can often be seen jogging in the park or relaxing by the water. At the corner of the lake is a japanese style bridge and another local shrine, in front of which you can see many turtles during the warmer months. The pond is a popular hanami spot during spring as the cherry blossoms bloom around the water.
